Citee Cars appoints new CEO

Renaissance is pleased to announce that Citee Cars, the online auto-rental start-up, has appointed Bill Jones as its new CEO.

Having recently received VC funding, the business sought to bring on board a founder CEO to help finalise the strategic plan ahead of the business’ launch this year. Initially based in Benelux, Bill will take full responsibility for the development of the business, creating the commercial partnerships and business development deals that will enable a successful launch in 2012.

Bill brings with him over 25 years’ experience in international business management, with substantial experience of initiating and leading growth strategies in a diverse range of consumer and business services organisations. Formerly Chief Executive at easycar.com, Bill has held senior management within several travel and tourism giants such as Hertz Europe, Walt Disney and Thomas Cook.

Commenting on his appointment, Bill said: “The opportunity to become CEO of an innovative start-up consumer business conceived and funded by one of Europe’s leading VCs is an invigorating and exciting challenge to say the least.
The whole process; which involved two international interviews, was expertly handled by Tony and Steve at Renaissance. Their style of "informal efficiency" made them very easy to deal with and I was kept fully informed throughout every step of the process. They were clearly listening every step of the way and proved to be credible sounding board for advice and ideas at crucial points along the way. I would highly recommend Renaissance to any senior executive looking for a new opportunity.”

Citee Cars is an innovative online car sharing business about to be launched by Mangrove Capital Partners – a leading European Venture Capital company. Inspired by the Ryan Air model of value at low cost, the business will look to operate quality car fleets in various cities worldwide in a model that is both highly profitable and extremely price competitive.

In its early phase the business will be based in Luxembourg.
