Truphone, the leading next generation mobile operator, today announced the appointment of Malcolm Myers as Chief Commercial Officer, in charge of driving the global commercial deployment of the organization and run the sales function. He will be reporting to CEO Geraldine Wilson.
Malcolm has spent the last 15 years as a key contributor to the commercial success of a series of fast growing companies in the telecommunications and internet sectors.
His experience includes hands on Sales and Marketing roles developing and reinventing the customer proposition, winning and retaining customers and raising customer spend. He has been part of the Executive Team of Sunrise (formerly TDC Switzerland AG) a company with $1.8 billion in sales, articulating the corporate strategy, seeking out both organic and inorganic growth opportunities, evaluating major technology investments and actively contributing to major company decisions.
He has built and led a team tasked with creating the largest and most extensive MVNO business in Switzerland from scratch, and has had the challenge of leading a mobile business through a turnaround into becoming the country's leading player in its field.
Most recently, Michael was Head of Strategy and Business Development at MIH, a leading global internet company and includes the QXL Ricardo e-commerce business in 17 European countries, Mail.ru, ibibo.in, and Tencent in China. Malcolm's focus was to build out MIH's e-commerce businesses principally by acquiring online auctions, classifieds, and price comparison businesses throughout Europe and Asia.
Michael holds a BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics from New College, Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
